Members Rules & Regulations

MB 50/50 hosts a sale of weanlings, with half the sale revenue going to the administration of a 2 yr. old futurity. The futurity is only open to those weanlings that sold thru the MB 50/50 sale. All weanlings must sell thru the ring. 

MEMBERSHIP

Ÿ         All members must be Manitoba residents.

Ÿ         All members must be members of the MB Horse Council. If more than one person is listed on the membership then all listed need MHC memberships as per the authorization forms.

Ÿ         Members are those who have paid their annual maintenance fees.

Ÿ         The club reserves the right to limit the number of members. (at present 35)

Ÿ         Each member is allowed 1 vote. 1 membership- 1 vote.

Ÿ         New members are required to pay the founder fee. (at present - $1000.) A fee of $100. is due upon being put on the waiting list. Balance (at present $900.) is due within 10 days of notification of becoming a member.

Ÿ         All people on the waiting list will be sent a list of rules and regulations and the minutes from the meetings on a regular basis. Please supply secretary with your e-mail address.

Ÿ         Upon receiving membership into the MB 50/50, a signing authorization form must be completed by the new member listing all people eligible to sell horses under this membership. Changes to the signing authority lists will necessitate club approval.  Membership in the MB 50/50 is not transferable.

FEE DEADLINES:

      Feb.1- $100. Annual membership payable to MB 50/50 Superhorse Assoc.. If not received by       Mar.1,   then membership is revoked.

      July 1- $100. Fee per weanling guarantee payable to the MB 50/50 Superhorse Assoc. $50.00 late fee  applies to this deadline. $50. is refunded when colt sells, $50. pays for the halter/ boxstall.

      July 1- $100.- Advertising & payment due payable to the MB 50/50 Superhorse Assoc..  Missing     deadline will result in double fee- $200.. Money to be taken off sale of colts if not pd. by                    sale time. If money not received by Dec. 31, then membership expires. Prior to Dec.31, you will receive one notice.

   NOTE: If ad copy is not received by Aug.1st then last year’s ad will be used or no ad             will be included in the catalogue.

             Ad prices – full page -$125., ½ pg - $100., Ό pg $50., bus. cards - $25.00

      Aug.1-   Foal information for the sale catalogue should be sent to the show secretary.   Foal      information must be in by Aug 1 dead-line or forfeit consignment rebate. Please include a                  copy of the registration papers, if you have them - it reduces catalogue errors.

 SALE REQUIREMENTS:

Ÿ         The number of entries allowed in the sale per member will be determined by the club members each

       year. (Usually 2, but at present 3 is allowed)

Ÿ          Foals must be born prior to June 15th, to be eligible to sell in the MB 50/50 sale.

Ÿ          No foal with an over-bite (no occlusal contact between the upper and lower central incisors) will be

       allowed to sell. Foal in question will be inspected by the owner & 2 members of the committee who

       will determine sale eligibility.

Ÿ          It is up to the membership to police themselves & if there is a complaint of health issues on the foal,    it is to be brought to the attention of the executive & show directors. Their decision will be final.

Ÿ          Directors for the show will include: arena, drug testing, rules & reg., sponsorship, MRCA & sales.

Ÿ          Foals may be substituted up until sale day as long as there was information sent in originally by the

       deadline date. Pertaining to the sub- all information, original papers, transfer, & 2 registration copies

       must be in the office by Friday. 6 o‘clock (of sale weekend) - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Ÿ          Original papers & signed transfer on all sale foals must be in office by Fri. evening of sale weekend & will forfeit consignment rebate. 2 copies of the papers must also be included - front  & back.

Ÿ          If a member hasn’t consigned a foal for 3 consecutive yrs, their membership in the 50/50 expires.

Ÿ          Weanlings consigned must be solely in members name to sell.

Ÿ          Original papers must be present at the sale for the foal to sell.

Ÿ          Hair will be pulled for possible DNA purposes prior to the sale – presently during the ID pictures.

Ÿ          A floor price of $500. per foal applies to the sale. Foals that don’t attain a $500. bid will automatically  be purchased by the consignor for $500..

Ÿ          A $250. fee per weanling must be paid with the July 1st weanling guarantee to the MB 50/50 if the  

       consignor is not the Breeder of record. On subs this should be paid as soon as information is sent.

Ÿ          All foals are sold with a halter and lead shank. MB 50/50 supplies these & members are responsible

       for payment. (at present this fee is included in the $100. Foal guarantee.)

Ÿ          In the event of an NSF cheque the MB 50/50 will stand good for the foal and the foal will go back to  the seller, with either half of the sale avg. or original price to be paid to the pot (whichever is lowest).

  MEETINGS

Ÿ          Meetings  are set:  meetings are set for the 2nd Wed. of  Mar., June, Aug., Oct., Nov., & the AGM will be set by the executive before Feb.1st.

Ÿ         $100. will be paid upon request to those who chair the following positions: advertising & sponsorships, catalogue, arena director, sales director, horse council-drug testing rep., website rep., President, Treasurer, Hospitality, Secretary. These refunds need to be requested before Dec. 31st

Ÿ         Motions put forth to the floor need unanimous approval. For all motions that don’t have unanimous approval, a second reading is required at the next mtg. Defeated motions don’t require a 2nd reading.

FUTURITY PAYOUT & CONSIGNOR AWARDS

Breakdown for payout for the futurity will be:

                                                 1st -  28% of purse 11% split to

                                                 2nd - 17% of purse 3% split to

                                                 3rd - 14% of purse 3% split to

                                                 4th - 11% of purse 2% split to

                                                 5th -   9% of purse 2% split to

                                                 6th -   7% of purse 2% split to

                                                 7th -   5% of purse  1% split to

                                                 8th -   4% of purse  1% split to

                                                 9th -   3% of purse  1% split to

                                                10th -  2% of purse

Breakdown of consignor award payout will come from 5% of the sale proceeds, split as follows:

           1st- 30%, 2nd - 25%,    3rd- 20%,    4th -15%,    5th- 10%
